Petra Švecová: In the garden and beyond

The exhibition in the Regional Gallery in Liberec is a free meditation on the subject of gardens, but at the same time it tries to go beyond this limit: to go over the fence, to look for hidden associations in things that we usually consider, but which carry a deeper experience shared over generations. Cultivation, care, flowers with mystical and religious meanings - all carry a deeper connection with the world - a kind of consciousness that has been passed down through the generations.

Petra Švecová repeatedly uses motifs from nature, gardens and flowers in her works. Although her paintings refer to reality, they do not describe it: rather, they are a starting point for the search for forms and colors that refer to collective archetypes.
